The Indiana Beekeepers' Association (IBA) was started in 1998. With educational focus and with members statewide, it has become Indiana's largest beekeeping group (over 800 members). Year round programs help to keep its members up-to-date on all matters about beekeeping. Its key programs include:
- A February Indiana Bee School held in Indianapolis on the last Saturday of the month (attended by over 500 in 2009). Scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010.
- April and May Spring Field Clinics held throughout the state
- Participation in Indiana State Fair providing the public with Honey Ice Cream, various honeys from all over the state, an observation hive and answers to the public's questions
- A November Fall Conference at a State Park, will be at Brown County State Park, Nashville, IN on November 12 & 13, 2010.
- Creating, supporting and strengthening of local beekeeper groups.
The IBA publishes the IBA Newsletter, a quarterly focus on all aspects of Indiana beekeeping. Its main purpose is "To Promote Better Beekeeping throughout Indiana". The charter and by-laws for the IBA are on this web site.
